Chan Sin, a doctoral student in the Department of Fine Arts (Musicology) and a young Steinway artist, held a solo concert



On November 9, the Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou will host an eagerly anticipated concert featuring the talented Steinway Young Artist, Chan Sin, from Macau. She will take the audience on a journey through time, connecting them with the classical works of two giants of Romantic music, Chopin and Mendelssohn, through the flowing notes that emanate from her fingertips. Additionally, she will present Rachmaninoff's arrangement of "Variations on a Theme by Paganini for Two Pianos." This promising rising star from Macau will showcase her unique interpretation and artistry through familiar melodies.

 

 

Chan Sin is currently a doctoral student at the City University of Macau and serves as a part-time tutor at the Macao Polytechnic University. As a Steinway Young Artist, Chan Sin has graced many significant stages around the world. She has excelled in multiple international piano competitions, including winning the Paris and London International Music Awards, and she has also been honored with the Cultural Affairs Bureau Award from the Macau government. Beginning her collaboration with the Macau Orchestra at the age of seven, where she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23, she has since shared the stage with numerous artists, including Hedeland and Lang Lang, accumulating extensive performance experience. Her musical journey has taken her to Vienna, the UK, France, Vietnam, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, with frequent invitations to participate in international performing arts festivals and to serve as a mentor and judge at music camps. She has collaborated with various orchestras, including the Macau Orchestra, the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Hanoi Philharmonic. In 2021, Chan Sin was invited to perform with the Macau Orchestra as a guest artist, highlighting her considerable influence in the music world.

 

Chan Sin expressed that it is a great honor for her to perform in the concert hall named after the people's musician, Xian Xinghai, especially during the 25th anniversary of Macau's return to the motherland. She intends to present an unforgettable musical feast for music lovers in Guangzhou and across the nation, filled with her sincerest emotions and exquisite skill.
