Program Overview

Background and Features

In response to the development of the design field in Macau and to support the booming design industry, this program emphasizes multicultural academic research. It aims to cultivate high-level, international design professionals and faculty, enhancing the value of design in the new era. The program also aligns with the university's internationalization strategy by establishing platforms for international collaboration.

 

The program balances theoretical knowledge with practical experience, expanding diverse professional content. It covers Architecture Design (Landscape Architecture, Regional architecture, Public Art), Product Design (Form Semantics, Classic Cases), and Visual Communication Design (Brand Planning, Contemporary Art) to meet varied student needs. The overall goal is to guide graduate students in integrating innovative thinking with practical experience, refining leaders in design research, education, management, and business.

 

Objectives

Amid the global design development trend, the program focuses on creating design products with aesthetic, functional, or symbolic significance under feasible conditions of science, technology, and economy. It aims to cultivate professionals in the design field who balance science and aesthetics, driven by innovative research-based education for graduate students.

 

Graduates can devote in higher education, research institutions, government agencies, and design firms to engage in design, management, and professional research. Research topics include design methodology, design education, architectural design, and extend to design education and theory, and design methods and theory.
