Huang Jing, a 2025 Doctoral student in Arts (specializing in Musicology) at the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau, has been awarded the "Young Talent Award" at the 16th Fujian Province Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences Awards. The award was officially announced.
Ms. Huang received this prestigious recognition for her sole-authored paper, "An Investigation into the Origins of Mazu Chanting in Wenfeng Palace", published in Chinese Musicology, a CSSCI-indexed journal. This achievement underscores the remarkable academic potential of students at City University of Macau.

In addition to her doctoral studies under the supervision of Professor Dai Dingcheng at City University of Macau, Ms. Huang is a provincial-level representative inheritor of "Banggudong", a traditional folk art recognized as part of Fujian's fifth batch of intangible cultural heritage. She also holds the position of Associate Professor at the School of Music, Putian University.
The selection process for the Fujian Province Social Sciences Awards is highly rigorous, involving multiple stages including discipline-specific panel reviews, ideological review, research ethics assessment, and expert voting. This year, a total of 280 awards were conferred, with only 30 recipients receiving the "Young Talent Award".
