2025 Design Art Exhibition of Final Works of Basic Modeling Course

The School of Innovation Design recently successfully held a joint final exhibition of the "Basic Styling" course. This course demonstrates the creative achievements and modeling abilities of sophomore students majoring in industrial design, environmental design, and urban landscape design. The goal of the course is to enable students to understand the application of comprehensive materials in design and help them transform from a two-dimensional perspective to a three-dimensional perspective. Under the guidance of teachers An Shun and Li Jie, the exhibition works were presented in various forms such as the use of comprehensive materials, color textures, and morphological compositions, attracting widespread attention and active participation.

This exhibition not only provides students with a platform to showcase their talents and strengths in the field of design, but also provides students with an opportunity to learn and communicate with each other. It is hoped that through this exhibition of course-ending works, students will be encouraged to combine theoretical knowledge with practice and develop their innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

This exhibition of works will be on display until January 17, 2025, and will be on display in the lobby of Wang Kuan Tower on CityU’s Taipa campus. Teachers and students are welcome to visit.

I learned a lot from the course "Basic Styling". It gradually improved my ability to observe objects and shape them. I used persimmon as the theme to conduct research on the fruit, deeply explored the shape and color of persimmon, and finally completed a satisfactory work. Overall, it was a fulfilling and enjoyable learning experience.

This final homework exhibition on basic modeling, from conception to completion, made me realize the importance of details and the charm of design in every step. Thanks to Teacher Li Jie’s careful guidance, I learned how to transform design ideas into specific design works. This experience made me understand that design requires not only creativity, but also solid practice and hands-on ability. I will use this as a starting point to continue to explore more possibilities.

The basic modeling course was full of exploration, fun and challenge, which led me to have an in-depth understanding of design elements such as shape, color, material and so on, allowing me to turn my creativity into vivid works. In class, Teacher An Shun actively interacted with us, guiding us to cleverly apply the growth characteristics of plants and fruits in our modeling works, which expanded our design horizons, laid the foundation for future design creation, and inspired me to continue to explore and innovate. enthusiasm. Thanks to the teacher for preaching, teaching, and clearing up doubts.

Title of work: Bitter Melon·Expression

Class taught: Bachelor of Arts in Design, Major in Urban and Landscape Design

Instructor: An Shun, Assistant Professor

After one semester of studying the "Basic Modeling" course, I gained a lot. The course covers many aspects from theory to practice. In the previous personal learning system, modeling was mostly expressed in a limited way, but through practice and teacher guidance in this course, I gained a different understanding of the modeling of objective things. Observing from different levels, and then innovating and transforming things from different angles, this method also gave me great inspiration in design and improved my overall quality and ability.
