Recently, Tan Junyuan, a 2021 undergraduate majoring in Design and Arts at our academy, won the Silver Award in the Jiangmen "Mayor’s Cup" Industrial Design Competition under the guidance of Assistant Professor Zhao Yulin.

Organized by the Jiangmen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the competition was themed "Discover New Designs • Empower Smart Manufacturing • Enjoy New Lifestyles," focusing on the development of 20 strategic industrial clusters and 15 key industrial chains in Jiangmen. This year’s competition attracted a total of 2,545 entries from enterprises, design institutions, universities, and industry platforms. For Tan Junyuan, a native of Jiangmen, receiving this award holds special significance.

The core of design education lies in fostering creativity and developing the ability to solve real-world problems. Our academy has long been committed to building an education model centered on practice and innovation. The achievements of our award-winning students exemplify the seamless integration of professional expertise and academic depth through their dedication and effort.

I am truly delighted to have won the Silver Award in the Concept Design category of the Cultural and Creative Design Special Event at the Jiangmen "Mayor’s Cup" Industrial Design Competition. This honor fills me with immense pride and gratitude. I would like to sincerely thank my mentor, Assistant Professor Zhao Yulin, for her meticulous guidance and unwavering support.

During the creative process, I gained a deep appreciation for the importance of blending local culture with contemporary design language. By exploring the rich cultural heritage of Jiangmen, I sought to use innovative approaches to showcase the charm of tradition. This fusion of cultural preservation and creative innovation became my source of inspiration.

Finally, I want to once again express my sincere gratitude to my mentor for her hard work and guidance. I will remain humble, continue to learn and improve, and strive to create more meaningful design works as I move forward!
