Recently, the Research Center for Chinese Science Evaluation (RCCSE)),conducted an objective evaluation of scholars' academic influence based on domestic academic achievements indexed by CNKI. This initiative has led to the inaugural selection of the "2024 Highly Cited Scholars" list, aimed at promoting outstanding research results in China and enhancing the social impact of scientific findings. Following rigorous preliminary preparations, including strict quantitative data statistics, selection scheme reviews, and expert consultations, the preliminary list of "2024 Highly Cited Scholars" has been established.

In this evaluation, Professor Wang Xiaoyang from the Faculty of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau has been recognized for his exceptional academic contributions and influence, successfully making the "2024 Highly Cited Scholars" list. His selection not only acknowledges his individual academic achievements but also affirms the research standards of City University of Macau.

The 2024 selection of "Highly Cited Scholars" by CNKI aims to objectively and scientifically assess and recognize scholars in China who have made significant contributions and demonstrated outstanding academic influence over the past decade (2014-2023). Approximately 3.35 million scholars nationwide entered the initial selection, with 30,000 in the top 1% and 89,000 in the top 5%. The evaluation criteria were based on a combination of indicators, including the Paper Citation Standardized Index (PCSI), the number of collaborators, and authorship order. Professor Wang's inclusion reflects his significant standing and influence in the academic community, further motivating his peers to pursue excellence and contribute to the advancement of academic research and technological innovation.
