The Use and Production of Materials

I chose metal wire and leather to make a model for wartime airships. Material: sheepskin, silver plated copper wire, tin wire, UHU glue.

The idea is to restore the airship during the First World War, and choose the silver plated copper wire because of the small elasticity of the copper wire and good plasticity. The silver plating can be soldered under the premise of guaranteeing the silver. Sheepskin material is chosen to better restore the surface material of rigid airships.

The welding method is used to connect the copper wire, and the utility model has certain beauty in the condition of guaranteeing the strength. The main frame is made of 1.0mm copper wire, and the details are made of 0.5mm copper wire.

Build the overall frame, then install the tail and turret.

The metal frame has been welded. Then cut the sheepskin into strips and put on the skin. To imitate the way the airship was burned, I cut the back into an irregular shape and light it with a lighter.

All finished, then welded to the base, affixed to the German cross mark, and ultimately completed.

Production difficulties:

1. The first use of electric iron, and finally in the online video tutorial instructions learned to use.

2. For leather cutting, measuring approximately the width, then do a good job in the formwork is modified.

3. For leather paste, I use UHU glue paste, and then metal skeleton.

4. Imitation fire effect, I use a lighter burning leather edge, resulting in deformation, the basic color has not changed. After that, I use black toner to light the black burning effect.
