Liu Haiping, Associate Professor of the Art Program at the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau, holder of a PhD in Art History and Theory and a Post-doctoral fellow in Art Theory, was invited to attend the 2026 Third Annual Conference of the Art Criticism Committee of the China Art Theory Association, as well as the Symposium on the Integrated Development of Chinese Art Criticism and Art Creation. The conference was held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, from July 3 to 5, 2026.

Hosted by the Art Criticism Committee of the China Art Theory Association and Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, the annual conference was co-organized by five prestigious universities and research institutions, including the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. It also received academic support from 14 professional academic journals, including Art Hundred Masters, Research on Ethnic Art, Art Panorama, Art and Humanities, andChina Art News.

At the conference, Professor Liu Haiping delivered a keynote speech titled Outside and Inside, Male and Female: Who Is Lucrezia? — Research on the Italian Renaissance Fresco "Nativity of the Virgin", and served as the academic chair of the sub-forum "Western Art Criticism Theory and Creation Research".

During the sub-forum, Professor Liu listened to academic presentations delivered by professional teachers, doctoral and master's students, and one undergraduate student from East China Normal University, Macau University of Science and Technology, Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, Tongji University, Soochow University, and Shandong University of Arts. She provided professional comments on the presentations covering Western art criticism theories, modern Chinese art theory and criticism, as well as traditional and contemporary Chinese artistic creation. She also conducted in-depth academic exchanges and discussions with the presenters.

In her keynote speech, Professor Liu shared her latest research findings. Adopting innovative research methodologies and perspectives including spatial analysis, gender studies and image correlation, her study conducts an in-depth analysis of classic paintings from the High Italian Renaissance. The speech featured original perspectives and substantial content, winning enthusiastic responses from participating scholars. Professor Liu's academic sharing and professional commentary at the conference have effectively strengthened academic exchanges between City University of Macau and various domestic universities and research institutions, and further enhanced the university's academic reputation and influence in the domestic art research community.
