Programme Introduction
Environmental Design
Environmental Design is a practical and interdisciplinary design discipline oriented toward both physical and virtual environments, with a core focus on integrating artistic design and digital technology empowerment. Grounded in traditional spatial aesthetics and environmental creation, the programme deeply integrates digital technologies, virtual construction, intelligent interaction and advanced creative tools to create hybrid spaces that merge the physical and virtual realms in the digital-intelligent era. Through design languages such as virtual scenarios, cyberspace storytelling, immersive experiences, human–machine collaboration and virtual–real fusion, students develop solutions applicable to metaverse exhibitions, digital twin cities, smart cultural tourism, gaming and entertainment, and virtual production.
Industrial Design
Industrial Design is an emerging discipline that integrates engineering technology with aesthetic artistry. Centred on product design, it encompasses systematic planning and design across areas including product development, research principles, functionality, structure, materials, form, colour, craftsmanship, equipment, packaging, transportation, display, marketing and advertising. By creating a unified sensory and social image, industrial design enhances and communicates product or corporate identity, enabling products to demonstrate distinctive qualities in functionality, branding, service experience, social image and corporate culture, thereby gaining competitiveness in the market.
Urban and Landscape Design
Urban and Landscape Design is a comprehensive and wide-ranging discipline within architecture. A city is a complex organism composed of buildings and the surrounding spatial environment, which together form the urban landscape. Architecture provides functional, aesthetic and economic spaces for human living and working, while landscape encompasses all non-building environments, both natural and artificial. Architecture often exhibits strong, technical and direct urban impacts, whereas landscape design emphasises social relevance, temporal continuity and flexible, indirect influence.
The exhibition will be held from 22 to 28 April 2026 at the Exhibition Hall, Cultural Centre, Taipa Campus, and the Lobby of the K. C. Wong Building, City University of Macau. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
Other guests at the event included Mr. Zhao Qiang, The Palace Museum Taihe Scholar; Mr. Li Chao, Senior Design Expert of Alibaba Group (Macau); Xing Yalong, Programme Director of the Bachelor of Arts in Design Programme; as well as faculty members and students of the Faculty of Innovation and Design.
