City University of Macau, Faculty of Innovation and Design recently held the Outcomes Exhibition of the "Virtual Reality Art Creation Training for Macau's Historic Centre" project at its Taipa Campus. The exhibition showcased six outstanding works that creatively integrated art with technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through themes like traditional festivals, cultural heritage preservation, and tourism experiences, the works vividly presented the multifaceted cultural blend and unique charm of Macau's Historic Centre from all angles.

The "Virtual Reality Art Creation Training for Macau's Historic Centre" project was funded in 2024 by the National Arts Fund (China) and the Macao Cultural Development Fund. Organized by the Faculty of Innovation and Design, the project aims to foster deep integration between Macau's historical culture and virtual reality technologies, empowering innovative cultural dissemination in Macau. Aligned with Macau's urban positioning as a "World Centre of Tourism and Leisure," the project leverages the rich cultural resources of the Historic Centre. Guided by the concept of "Artistic Culture Reimagining Macau's Image; VR Technologies Empowering Sustainable Development," it cultivates future-oriented artistic talents.

The project curriculum covered digital storytelling, immersive design, and VR creation, nurturing participants' interdisciplinary thinking and practical skills. It is dedicated to establishing a teaching model that integrates artistic creation, technological application, and urban cultural representation. Since its launch in July 2024, the project has successfully trained 27 interdisciplinary art creation talents.

City University of Macau, Faculty of Innovation and Design will further strengthen cooperation with universities, research institutions, and cultural enterprises both domestically and internationally. We will continue deepening the integration of art and technology in teaching practices, exploring more innovative approaches to cultural dissemination. This will provide enhanced technical support and creative solutions for the preservation and development of Macau's Historic Centre, contributing to the high-quality development of Macau's cultural and creative industries.
