On April 2, 2025 (Wednesday), from 15:30 to 17:00, our Bachelor of Design and Arts program held the "2024 Major Orientation Seminar" to help first-year students better understand their future major options and course content.

In the first half of the seminar, Assistant Professor Xing Yalong, the Program Director, introduced the characteristics of each major and the curriculum structure for the second, third, and fourth years. In the middle section, faculty members from each major gave detailed presentations about their respective fields and future development prospects.

For the Environmental Design major, Assistant Professor Li Kerun was the speaker. Professor Li introduced the connection between environmental design and daily life through case studies completed by students, highlighting examples such as aesthetic design within the campus environment. She also shared the impressive achievements of students and faculty participating in various competitions.

For the Industrial Design major, Assistant Professor Zhao Yulin served as the speaker. Professor Zhao opened the presentation with the questions "What innovations can we create?" and "Where will I go in the future?" She elaborated on the entire process from the conception to the creation of graduation projects, clearly presenting the learning structure of the major.

For the Urban and Landscape Design major, Assistant Professor Yan Yu delivered the presentation. Professor Yan explained, from a macro perspective, the importance of urban planning and landscape architecture in city development, ecological civilization, and human living environments.

At the end of the seminar, an interactive Q&A session was held to address students' questions and provide assistance.

Choosing a major is a crucial decision point in students' future career development, requiring a comprehensive consideration of their personal strengths and professional interests. This seminar played a vital role in enhancing students' innovation capabilities and supporting them in successfully completing their graduation projects.
