FIAD Won the First Prize in the National Competition for the First Time, Demonstrating the Creative Power of AIGC.

Kang Rongyiming and Gao Haibo, two 2024 Master of Design students from the School of Innovation Design at the City University of Macau, under the meticulous guidance of Assistant Professor Jing LIU, won the First Prize in the Macau Division of the 12th National College Students' Digital Media Technology Works and Creative Competition - a list competition of the Higher Education Society of the Ministry of Education with their work "ROBERT WUN Visual Concept Short Film Project". On November 23rd, Kang Rongyiming, together with Professor Liu Jing, participated in the national on-site final held at the Chengdu Science Fiction Museum and won the First Prize in the national competition.

This year's competition attracted outstanding students from numerous universities across the country and is one of the top events in the fields of digital media and creativity. It holds extremely high academic and practical value in promoting students' innovation, entrepreneurship, and improvement of practical abilities. The competition attracted more than 400,000 teachers and students from over 2,500 universities at home and abroad, with 140,000 works submitted. Among them, only about 2,000 works successfully entered the national final. The AIGC track was particularly fierce, gathering outstanding students from top domestic universities such as Tsinghua University, China Academy of Art, and Beijing Institute of Technology. There were also many high-level participating teams with backgrounds in data science and science and engineering. The teachers and students of our university stood out with their solid professional abilities and innovative performances, fully demonstrating the advantages of interdisciplinary cultivation in the discipline of design.

With the innovativeness and artistry of the work, they received unanimous praise and high acclaim from the on-site jury. The work took the personal fashion brand in London established by Hong Kong designer Robert Wun as the object, combined AIGC technology with cutting-edge digital creative design concepts to design and produce relevant fashion visual promotional short films. It not only demonstrated the perfect fusion of art and technology but also highlighted the remarkable achievements of the School of Innovation Design at the City University of Macau in the combination of industry, academia, and research as well as teaching practice in the digital field.
