In order to demonstrate the learning outcomes of the course and enhance students' creative practice and artistic expression, Faculty of Innovation and Design organized the “Exploration of Brushwork” - 2024 Master of Fine Arts Compendium Exhibition on 26th November 2024 at the CLG201B Exhibition Hall of the Cultural Centre. “The exhibition was organized by the School of Creative Design. This exhibition is the final exhibition of the 24th year MFA course “Research on Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Creation”, which is co-curated by Asst. Prof. Huahua Liu and student Li Zhe.

The theme of the exhibition, “Exploration of Brushwork”, is closely related to the course content. Through the study and creation of “brushwork”, students not only explored the techniques and forms of expression of Chinese calligraphy, but also thought deeply about the multiple meanings of “brushwork” as an artistic symbol and a tool in the process, which fully realized the teaching concept of the College that emphasizes both theory and practice. The concepts of the Academy's teaching are fully realized. The exhibited works cover traditional forms of calligraphy such as seal script, official script, regular script, etc., and incorporate modern font design and cultural product creation, showing the infinite possibilities of the art of calligraphy with the changes of the times, and reflecting the students' profound thinking and unique insights on the art of calligraphy.

The exhibition not only provided students with the opportunity to show themselves and communicate, but also injected a strong traditional cultural atmosphere into the campus. Teachers and students can appreciate the unique charm of calligraphy and seal carving art, understand the cultural connotation and contemporary value behind these art forms, and at the same time, it also demonstrates the active exploration of our college in improving students' comprehensive quality and creative practice ability.

The exhibition will be held from November 26 to 29, 2024 at CLG201B, Taipa Campus Cultural Center, and all interested parties are welcome to visit the exhibition.
