On October 10, 2018, PhD students in urban planning and design from the School of Innovation and Design of City University of Macau, and MA students in architecture from Plymouth University in the United Kingdom, started a 10-day research workshop to explore Macau.The teaching goal is to explore regeneration of Iao Hon community.

In the morning of October 19, 2018, the “land of dreams” was launched at the Ho Xian Conference Center of our school. The guests included the Macao Legislative Council, Mr. Hu Zujie, the researcher of the Macao Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau, Wu Tianqi Mr. Zhou Hongping, Senior Technical Staff Member of the Macao Cultural Bureau; Chairman Xie Sixun from the Urban Renewal Committee; Mr. Xiao Yuming, Chairman of the Urban Development Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chen Desheng; Ms. Yang Jing, Macao Urban Planning Society; Editor-in-Chief, Hong Kong Zhongshi Building Publishing Co., Ltd. In addition, our lecturers, PhD students and Prof. Robert Brown from the Department of Architecture at Plymouth University, and his students, using theoretical teaching combined with research workshops and creative teaching methods, guiding students to look at the issues of Iao Hon community from a new perspective, and interact with guests. Also, the workshop showed the discussions of academic experiments and practical issues, which was successfully completed and is expected to continue next year.
