Faculty Member Invited to Participate in “The Many Possibilities of Markets” Forum, Exploring Local Culture and Sustainable Community Development

On May 16, Assistant Professor Ni Kang from the Faculty of Innovation and Design at the City University of Macau was invited to participate in "The Many Possibilities of Markets" — A Forum on Sustainable Community Development, organised by the Macau arts and cultural group "Myland Culture". Together with invited guests, she engaged in discussions on local culture and community spatial development in Macau. The forum brought together scholars, artists, and community practitioners from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau to explore topics including market transformation, community design, and cultural revitalisation.

The forum focused on the diverse value of traditional markets as urban public spaces and carriers of community culture, featuring discussions and sharing on market renewal, observation of community needs, artistic intervention, and sustainable development.

The Faculty of Innovation and Design at the City University of Macau has long attached importance to local cultural research and community engagement. The Faculty actively promotes interdisciplinary exchange among design, urban studies, and public issues, encouraging faculty members and students to participate in community cultural activities and social practice. Through academic research and innovative design, the Faculty continues to respond to the needs of urban development and cultural preservation while strengthening collaboration and interaction between universities and local communities.
