On May 13, 2026, the Award Ceremony of the 7th Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Creative Design Competition and the Launch Ceremony of the 8th Competition were held at the 1,200-square-meter studio of Zhuhai TV Station. Jing Liu, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau, attended the event as the representative of the Faculty by invitation. FIAD was honored with the "Outstanding Organization Award" in recognition of its active contributions to promoting cultural and creative design exchange, talent cultivation, and industry–academia collaboration within the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
The event was organized by the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports and brought together outstanding designers, industry experts, and institutional representatives from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Participants gathered to celebrate the achievements of the 7th competition and witness the official launch of the 8th edition. The program included the award ceremony, project exhibitions, signing sessions, and the launch ceremony for the upcoming competition.
The Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Creative Design Competition has been successfully held for seven consecutive editions. The competition is dedicated to strengthening exchange, collaboration, and resource integration in the field of cultural and creative design across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, while promoting the high-quality and coordinated development of the regional cultural and creative industries.
In recent years, the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau has actively participated in cultural and creative design exchange activities within the Greater Bay Area, continuously promoting the integration of design education, cultural creativity, and urban development. Receiving the "Outstanding Organization Award" further demonstrates the FIAD's achievements and influence in regional cultural and creative talent cultivation, academic exchange, and social service.
