On April 14, 2026, the Doctoral Programme in Arts (Music) of the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau, in collaboration with the Macau Urban Music Research Center, hosted a special academic lecture entitled "The Origin and Distinctive Path of Rationality in Chinese Music". The lecture featured Professor Luo Yifeng, a distinguished scholar from the Xi'an Conservatory of Music, who has long been engaged in research on music aesthetics, musical anthropology, and the history of musical thought. Focusing on comparative Chinese and Western musical thought and the historical context of traditional Chinese ritual and music civilization, Professor Luo examined the foundations, cultural connotations, and distinctive developmental path of the concept of rationality in Chinese music.

The lecture was chaired by Professor Dai Dingcheng, Head of the Programme and the Center, and was marked by lively interaction and a strong academic atmosphere.
