FIAD Organizes Master's and Doctoral Students in Design to Participate in the Extended Learning Activity of the "Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025" Special Exhibition

On September 18, 2025, a total of 40 master's and doctoral students from the Faculty of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau, led by Assistant Professor Jing Liu, visited the special exhibition "cAI™️ Laboratory 2.0—Are You Looking at Me, or Am I Looking at You?" as part of the "Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025" extended learning activity.

This exhibition, as one of the highlights of the biennale, is a collaboration between MGM Macau and internationally renowned contemporary artist Guo-Qiang Cai. It combines artificial intelligence with cultural art, allowing students to engage in in-depth discussions about Cai's creative process and the artistry behind his AI artist, cAI™. The special exhibition integrates cutting-edge AI technology with perceptual exploration, using technology as a medium, transforming the audience from mere recipients of art into co-creators. This offers a fresh perceptual experience and artistic imagination space, guiding students to explore the contemporary artistic context and international perspective, while inspiring reflections on future creative directions.

In the special exhibition, we can glimpse the unique style of Macau's contemporary artists blending local culture with global creativity, while truly feeling the resonance of art with the tides of the times. From avant-garde expressions empowered by AI technology to the subtle connections between macro-era themes and micro-individual perceptions, the exhibition showcases a dynamic interplay of light, shadow, and interaction.
