Associate Professor Wang Pohsun, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Innovative Design at the University of Macau, conducted an academic exchange on April 17, 2025, at the School of Digital Media and Interaction Design (establishing Guangzhou Jiaotong University) at Guangzhou Maritime University. Founded in 1964, Guangzhou Maritime University is the only independent maritime undergraduate institution recognized by the International Maritime Organization in South China and is a designated unit for master's degree programs in Guangdong Province. The School of Digital Media and Interaction Design has more than 20 on-campus laboratories, including a VR virtual simulation experimental platform, an art museum, an environmental design model laboratory, and a digital media arts laboratory, as well as over 10 collaborative enterprises and off-campus practical teaching bases.

In addition to visiting the laboratories of the School of Digital Media and Interaction Design, Associate Professor Wang Pohsun also gained in-depth insights into the educational characteristics of Guangzhou Maritime University and discussed potential collaborative research projects for the future. Furthermore, he shared the unique educational features of the School of Innovative Design at the University of Macau and introduced the results of the funded project (0036 / 2022 / A) from the Science and Technology Development Fund of the Macao Special Administrative Region. He explored how to integrate design with Macao's cultural resources, focusing on the protection and development of Macao's World Heritage sites. Through virtual reality experiences, he aimed to engage the public in the future design of Macao's historical district, building a world tourism and leisure center from a social design perspective and promoting the vision of design serving Macao's society.
