Associate Professor Wang Pohsun, Executive Associate Dean of the School of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau, conducted academic exchange at the School of Art and Design of Guangdong University of Technology on March 19, 2025.

The School of Art and Design at Guangdong University of Technology is one of China’s design institutions that integrates design practice with creative industries. Recognized as a "Talent Training Model Innovation Experimental Zone" in Guangdong Province and a member of the Cumulus International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media, the school adheres to the educational philosophy of "integrating design with technology and industry." It is dedicated to cultivating high-quality design and artistic talents with a strong sense of social responsibility, global vision, and innovative spirit. The school has developed distinctive educational features characterized by "integrating emerging engineering disciplines, practicing new paradigms, internationalizing teaching and research, and serving the Greater Bay Area."

Associate Professor Wang Boxun not only visited the laboratories of the School of Art and Design but also toured the Guangdong Industrial Design Exhibition Hall located on campus. During the visit, he gained in-depth insights into the educational strengths of Guangdong University of Technology's School of Art and Design and explored potential collaborations on future research project applications.

Additionally, Associate Professor Wang engaged in exchanges highlighting the distinctive educational features of the School of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau. He presented to Party Committee Secretary Luo Shengjing and faculty members the outcomes of the Science and Technology Development Fund of Macau Special Administrative Region-funded project (0036/2022/A). This project integrates design studies with Macau's cultural resources to investigate the preservation and development of Macau's World Heritage sites. Through virtual reality (VR) experience-based approaches, it enables public participation in the future design of Macau's Historic District, fostering the construction of a world-class tourism and leisure center from a social design perspective and promoting the vision of leveraging design studies to serve Macau society.
