Macau Urban Music Research Center Appoints Li Hongjiang as Distinguished Legal Advisor



Professor Dai Dingcheng, Director of the Macau Urban Music Research Center under the Faculty of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau, alongside Assistant Professor Cecilia I-Ian Long, Deputy Director, and Ms Lam Wai U, Administrative Supervisor, recently visited Associate Professor Li Hongjiang, Director of the Master of Law Programme at City University of Macau. They formally presented an appointment letter to Director Li, following prior discussions, inviting him to serve as the Center's Distinguished Legal Advisor.

 

Advisor Li Hongjiang currently serves as Director of the Master of Law Programme at City University of Macau, concurrently holding multiple roles including member of the University Academic Committee and member of Council. He possesses profound legal expertise and extensive practical experience. Having graduated from the Law School at Renmin University of China, Advisor Li possesses a comprehensive legal education background. He previously served as a justice at the Supreme People's Court and has conducted in-depth research in constitutional law, the Basic Law, criminal law, and criminal procedure law. He has published numerous high-calibre academic papers and achieved distinction in both teaching and research.

 

This appointment signifies the Center's progression towards a more standardised and professional development phase in academic research and institutional governance. It is anticipated that Advisor Li Hongjiang will provide specialised legal support for the Center's future development through his extensive legal expertise.

 

The Macau Urban Music Research Center is dedicated to systematically cataloguing and researching Macau's rich musical heritage, advancing the establishment of a local music academic system, and fostering academic connections with urban music scholars and institutions both domestically and internationally. This cross-disciplinary collaboration with Associate Professor Li Hongjiang represents not only an organic integration of academic and legal expertise, but also demonstrates the Center's foresight and sense of responsibility in institutional development. It lays a solid foundation for conducting more high-quality academic activities and international exchanges in the future.
