The "Front Desk Background Wall Design Competition for City Viva Hotel," jointly organized by City Viva Hotel Macau and City University of Macau, recently concluded successfully. The awards ceremony was held in the afternoon of October 28th at City Viva Hotel. Students from the Faculty of Innovation and Design performed exceptionally well, securing multiple awards and fully demonstrating their outstanding design capabilities and profound understanding of local culture.
This competition focused on designing the hotel's front desk background wall, with dimensions of 6 meters (length) x 2 meters (height). The entries were required to integrate the City Viva Hotel logo, Luso-Portuguese characteristics or tourism-related elements, while also showcasing creativity and visual appeal. The competition attracted numerous student participants. After professional judging, the following students stood out and achieved excellent results:

The first-prize winning work, " Ceramic Skyline: The Blue & White Soul of Macau", has the potential to be practically applied as Portuguese-style azulejo tiles on the hotel's front desk background wall. Asst. Prof. Kerun Li led the team attending the awards ceremony. He stated that the competition effectively promotes collaboration between academia and the industry, providing students with a valuable practical platform.
The competition yielded fruitful results, not only showcasing the students' creative talents but also fostering the deep integration of local culture and design education, injecting fresh momentum into the development of Macau's cultural and creative industries.
