2017 The opening ceremony of the Macau International Design Exhibition was held at 11:00 am on October 19 at the Venetian Hotel Golden Convention and Exhibition Center. Professor Wu Yao was invited to attend the opening ceremony, and as one of the ceremony guests for the opening ceremony. Professor Wu Yao and Chairman of the Macao International Design Association, Mr. Fu Jun, as well as invited guests Professor Hans C. Rott of the School of Architectural Design at the University of Virginia, exchanged views on the development of design education in Macao.

2017 Macao International Design Exhibition will expand the scope of exhibitions based on its experience. This Exhibition, themed on Discovery, covers design works exhibitions, theme lectures, forums, and exhibitions of the design-related industries. The 4th Golden Lotus International Design Invitational Tournament and 2017 Golden Lotus International (Macao) College Students Design Contest will be held to promote the exchanges m design industry and provide an efficient platform. More attention will be paid to the experimental, experiencing, interactive, and visible features of the activities. Not only professionals in the design industry will be attracted, but people in the other fields will participate in the activities. This is a reference for the development of Macao's design education.
